It is time to make some crackers! Why making them when you can buy so many different kinds? They are healthier, and you skip all the packaging. You also control the amount you make and the spices you use. With Summer fast approaching, these crackers will come handy for yummy dips like Baba Ganoush, and beautiful plant-based charcuterie boards!
These simple crackers use chickpea flour as a base so they are naturally high protein, and high fiber. This makes them a healthy treat for dips, crunchy bits for salad toppings. This recipe makes about 16 square crackers. They only need to bake for 25 minutes!
A few tips
Make sure to have an even layer because if some areas are thinner, they will bake faster and could even burn a little.
If you want perfect squares, score the sheet after 15 minutes.
If you want more organic looking crackers, you can use a knife make squares or break with fingers.

Gluten-free Chickpea Flour
Equipment
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
Ingredients
- 1 cup chickpea flour
- 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp minced dry rosemary
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tbsp oil (olive, avocado)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients: 1 cup of chickpea flour, nutritional yeast, 1 tsp sea salt, 1 tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp minced dried rosemary.
- Combine 1/2 cup of water with 1 Tbsp olive oil and mix with the dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter on the baking sheet. Smooth the top with a making sure you have an even layer.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Carefully flip the large cracker and bake for another 3-4 minutes until it is fully dried.
- Use a knife to score and make squares. Allow to fully cool down on the baking sheet before eating.
