Kind Cooking

Welcome to the world of Kind Cooking!

My name is Sophie and I have created this site for everyone who feels guilty eating meat, for all animal lovers who would rather never harm them but haven’t figured out how to switch to a plant-based diet. It is also for anyone suffering from allergies to dairy products, eggs, fish, and shellfish, and finally for anyone who loves making and eating delicious and nutritious plant-based food.

As a self-trained vegan chef, cooking instructor/food consultant, I feel blessed to share my passion for great international vegan food, a peaceful world, optimal health, and environmental protection. The truth is, you can’t have the last three without the first one because they are all interconnected. I hope to help people connect the dots and join the millions of people around the world living a kinder and more sustainable life.

My culinary Journey

It started in the South of France where I was born, then took me through Europe, the United States, then South East Asia, and even South America. I grew up eating delicious rich food my grandmother made (think creamy white and wine sauces) and fresh Mediterranean dishes my mother prepared. My family was by no means vegetarian but we were not big meat eaters either. This being said, I must confess that I have had my fair share of strange things being served as food as I grew up! But I soon came to realize that it was the sauces, the marinade that tasted so good and that they could have just as well been poured over bread or vegetables and it would have been just as good.

Natural Health & Healing

Taste and nutrition are always are the forefront of the food I prepare and the classes I teach because both are required for health and well-being. Hippocrates was indeed very wise when he said: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” I studied vegan nutrition to make sure that no deficiencies would be created while transitioning to a plant-based diet. I learned many interesting and useful things along the way. Taking supplements or consuming certain nutritional foods is one thing but our ability to absorb and metabolize them is another. That’s why I always incorporate nutritional tips in all my classes.

For many people, certain songs bring back a specific memory of where they were and who they were with when they heard them. Well, while I do love music, I have a memory of food attached pretty much to every place and the profound moment I have experienced in my life. It was the way love was shared and received in my life so I am continuing the tradition! But this time, I am proud to say, it is without any collateral damage, pain, or suffering for all parties involved! A plant-based diet is really the only diet for caring and compassionate individuals and the only path to sustainable peace in the world.

So, be good to one another, eat your fruit & vegetables,
it is good for your health, the animals, and the planet!
