For athletes, travellers or anyone who needs a savory protein boost, these crunchy roasted beans do the job!

Serves: 6
  • 1 can of garbanzo beans
  • 1 can red beans
  • 1 can of black beans
  • Sea salt & pepper
  • Onion and garlic powder
  1. Drain all the cans of beans into a collander and gently rinse them.
  2. Pour all the rinsed beans into a large bowl. Sprinkle with garlic salt, any dried herbs you like (garlic, pepper, French herbs).
  3. Drizzle some olive oil.
  4. Mix gently with your hands making sure again that you don’t damage them.
  5. Pour on a parchment lined baking sheet making sure you have a single layer and the beans don’t overlap.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes at 350F. After 20 minutes, mix it up a little so that the beans are cooked all over.
  7. Let it cool completely before serving and tasting.
  8. You can pour them on a paper towel if you want to remove some of the oil so it is cleaner to handle when you eat them.
  9. Store the mix in a ziploc bag after they are completely cooled off.
  10. It keeps forever, well just about!
  11. Some of the beans will be dried, others will be lightly crisp. No two bites will be alike.
